Slough Borough Council is committed to regeneration and continued improvement of the Britwell and Haymill areas.
The Britwell and Northborough Regeneration Project is currently being brought forward, following earlier consultation work in 2006 and has been broadened in its scope to bring benefits to the whole of Haymill ward. The project aims to strengthen the links between Britwell and Northborough and make the area a more attractive place to live and work.
The project team are pleased to announce that the outline planning application for development at Kennedy Park - the 1st phase of the Britwell and Haymill Regeneration project - has been approved by Slough Borough Council's Planning Committee.
The Proposed Development is focused on Kennedy Park and comprises:
The Local Planning Authority recommended the application for approval, following a 16 week determination period. During this time the Council considered the responses from Statutory Consultees. The Council's Planning Committee approved this recommendation during a meeting on March 17th 2010.
Following this important decision, Councillor Swindlehurst, Deputy Leader of the Council said: "being given outline planning permission now puts the Britwell Regeneration project one step closer to delivery, and with it the prospect of improved housing, retail and open spaces for the residents of Britwell". The scheme will now go forward to the detailed planning stage, which will be accompanied by another round of consultation with residents to gather their aspirations for what will be delivered as part of the project. We hope to see work commencing in late 2010 or early 2011.
